Sure, a day at the beach is
great, or a weekend at the
lake with the girls. But
given my druthers, I'd
ruther spend a week in the
mountains skiing my buns
off! There's nothing more
romantic than strolling
through the village on a
cold, snowy night, hearing
the snow squeak under
your boots and watching
the snowflakes floating
through the pools of light
from the streetlamps. Or
sitting in front of the
fireplace listening to the
fire while Mother Nature
dumps a foot of fresh for
the powder hounds.
Besides, I can't wear my
furs at the beach.

Friends always ask where's my favorite place to ski. The answer's always the same: "Yes!"
My favorite place has always been wherever I'm at at the moment, as long as the snow is
great and I'm with good friends. But I've always enjoyed visiting the Alps, and I seldom pass
up a chance to do Lake Tahoe and Telluride. I have dozens of favorite places.

Summer vacation - wow! What a
concept! I'll have to do this more
often. Spending a few days loafing

even when it's 110 degrees
outside, is a lot more fun than
sitting at home listening to the
neighbor's car stereo blasting
away while his dog makes little
poops all over my lawn. Best of all,
it's a chance to get all glammed up
and do an evening on The Strip.

SOUTHERN COMFORT 2011 - I went to one of the very first SCC events 20 years
ago, and this year I had a chance to back. It was a great week with a few old friends
and a lot of new ones. It was also a great chance to test several of my theories on
exactly how many outfits and pairs of shoes can be packed into three bags. More
