Spandex - one of the world's
great engineering advances! A
disaster ocurred on New Year's
Eve 1998 when one of the
seams on my corset gave way.
Six people standing nearby
were injured as corset stays
and tiny metal hooks exploded
in every direction. It wasn't a
very pretty sight. (I'm told that a
corset stay is still embedded in
the ceiling of the ballroom.)
